Stuff!

It is truly amazing what makes up the "stuff" in life...
whether it be your life or someone else's life... This subject comes from a couple of things going on in our lives right now... We're currently in a counter bidding situation on the house. Since it seems to be getting closer to our lease being up and the possibility of moving may be right around the corner we're looking around at our "stuff". It's time to clear out and box up things to be prepared to move or store them... There's always a little tugging at the heart strings do we keep it or does it go, have we or will we use it ever again??? Someone I worked with long ago said
"if you haven't used it or looked at it in 6 months it should go".
I have tried to live by this philosophy as much as possible...
as we well know there lots of variables to that rule...
Then there's the "stuff" that makes up other folks lives... as there is a lot of cleaning going on in the family as well... the kind that tells the story of someone you knew, loved, and that truly touched your life and continues to do so...
But now communicating through the "stuff" left behind...from clothes, to trinkets, to cups and baskets... even a set of golf clubs... it makes one think while contemplating boxing up 3 full bookcases of books and how heavy they will be to move... what does this "stuff" say about us??? Which things should we choose to keep or to give away that someone else may enjoy??? Which things do we shred or throw away...
after all this "stuff" is a part of us... it's who we are...
Even a piece of paper left behind can be special to someone else...
I saw such a paper when cleaning at Auntie M's...
It says that on September 1, 1986 she made a hole in one... she shot 125 yards using a 7 iron on the 8th hole at Briarwood Golf Course... We have many pictures of this course ourselves either from our wedding reception or golfing... I remember 13 years after that momentous event, Auntie M telling us at our wedding reception that she shot her hole in one there. Something truly rare and special...
