While growing up I was asked to think about a lot of things... On walks with my parents we'd stop and look at nature and things all around us... I was sometimes asked "what are you thinking about?" when I was a pre teen or teen... I usually responded "I dunno".
I think somewhere along the line I was taught by my family, especially my parents to observe my surroundings... to pay attention to the small things... especially in nature... and to wonder and marvel at their beauty... Who knows maybe it's heredity...
My Aunt just celebrated her Golden Jubilee... She has been a Sister of Notre Dame for 50 Years... Many have heard of my "Auntie Bobbie the Nun"... and one of her words that has stuck with me through the years is "Marvelous"... as things described by her were often described as beautiful and marvelous... which as a kid I thought was silly... however as I get older... I too can appreciate things as being beautiful and marvelous, even small things... so at this point I thank my parents... my family ...my aunt "the Nun" for instilling in me to pay attention and to see the beauty all around us... No Joke....(another of my favorite Auntie Bobbie sayings)...
These thoughts were brought about by our yard... today was an incredibly hectic day at work... it's also very hot here and humid... an "ozone action day" When I came home I did the usual things... parked the car, made dinner, watched the news... then I got out and walked the yard to see where the paint was drying... and there were a few new surprises... the bunch of"what is that going to be" bloomed into Reddish Day Lilies,
The weird plant growing over the fence in back had orange trumpet like flowers on it...(if someone knows what they are PLEASE tell us)... there were new flowers all over... some of the orange ones were being helped open by ants... and our new tenant was in her nest... I've named her "Bobbin" and she's a Robin... I have little red and green bell peppers in the works and so many "grape tomatoes" once they turn red I'll be able to supply my immediate family...so check out some of the new pics of our beautiful and marvelous happenings.... and remember to take these things in...
