One thing about having the family for a get together... it really motivates you to clean and get stuff done.... well unless it's the day of the Indians home opener.... than you might be less motivated to get things done... in a timely manner!
Obviously I'm slacking by updating the blog...
Well things are getting done at a casual pace... food has been purchased... cookies have been baked... the tablecloth has been washed... eggs have been boiled and are waiting to be colored... and the second attempt at paska or pascha bread is in the works!
Tomorrow the food... well some of the food, will be blessed as is the tradition... Eggs as a symbol of life... Kielbasi and ham symbolizing joy and abundance... Cheese (Mom's making the cheese) or "syrek" symbolizing moderation... Horseradish symbolizing how bitter life would be without Jesus... and Pascha if it turns out ok...
Fingers crossed we will not burn anything or everything!
I must get back to the baking!
