Well we hope you all had a great Easter holiday! After having the family for dinner...
We took off for a road trip to Amish Country! Saw some new things and some thing we'd seen before and of course ran out of time! It was a truly relaxed day with no particular agenda. We had the Wendell August store completely to ourselves!
The weirdest thing we saw on the road was a DIAPER.
In other news the work has begun on repainting and re organizing the tool room...
Some day soon we should be able to put the tools in it... The peg board had mildew and there are just areas that need cleaning. So the work on removing what we don't want, painting the basement walls and the current bench etc had begun on Monday. That's when gold was struck in our basement... gold bricks that is... we're guessing car paint in metallic gold... if anyone knows of masonry paint in metallic gold we'd love to hear where it's sold!
Well while one spouse is in the basement working the other is in her yard...garden... outdoors! Weeding and seeding and enjoying the tulips (favorite flower) in the flower beds/garden... this year an attempt at a small crop of potatoes is in the works.
Yukon Gold and Katahdin have been planted strategically... so they are in harmony with the peppers and perhaps cucumbers when they're ready to go in... the other new thing this year will be hanging tomatoes and possibly strawberries... we'll see!
Ollie has ether been hiding from the noise in the basement or watching from the windows as the yard is being worked on... ie raked/de thatched... More than happy to curl up with us after the work is done and it's quiet!
What's going on in your neck of the woods?!
