Over this past holiday weekend we had the pleasure of celebrating the Benya's 50th anniversary! While visiting with family, we were asked what projects we've been doing.
For those that may have been missing the regular blog updates... here's the run down...
New garage door! Plumbing! The downstairs bath is now in full working order... aside from the new "fishing" shower curtain and finding an appropriate mirror...it's good to go as the "man's bath". From there we moved on to the downstairs pantry which was scraped primed and repainted from ceiling to floor. Then on to the workshop. This was partially gutted, removing the shelving and old pegboard as well as the carpet and tile and drawers from the workbench. This was to improve airflow. Then there was the removal of two trees and two bushes... This we had someone else do. Then came the landscaping! We also were finishing prepping caulking and painting the garage. The fence line in back was trimmed and new perennials were added. The front evergreens were replaced with a hydrangea and a weigalea. Upon a discussion with the neighbor the pakisandra on the drive side is being killed off/ripped out for a neighbor friendly grassy knoll. More Painting! The upstairs art/craft room aka "Kermit room" no longer has green carpet, green woodwork and green walls... it is now Behr Desert Lily with white woodwork... green carpet...With the help of JR the "man door" has been renewed. We have also done the usual gardening. As well as the project of being parents to Ollie!
We still have things to accomplish before the snow! Chimney work is next... Leveling the front walk. Planting the front and side lawns. Painting the upstairs hall and putting the arts & crafts room back together. Working on the cars. And then stripping the wallpaper and painting the downstairs guest/computer room are all on the agenda...
