How many people heard from a parent or grandparent growing up that "idle hands are the devils workshop"? Usually this was followed up by a suggestion to do something... ie clean one's room!
Not that my hands were "idle", I happened to think of this recently during a class I was taking... I spent 2-1/2 hours one Sunday taking a knitting class at the near by Jo Ann Fabrics... while frustrating at first.. I now enjoy doing the simple knit, purl and casting on and off I learned in class... Jokingly a friend at work said "Scarves for everyone!" after hearing that I've started a project...
Coming from a family of women who sew, quilt, craft... etc. It was only a matter of time before I picked up something new of the like, I suppose. There's a good influence up the street that helped me start and finish the shower curtain in the "man's bath"... and has encouraged me to spend money and make new curtains for the bedroom! Hmmm maybe that's a bad influence... spend money... ahhh well I had a 50% off coupon it's all good!
