The Styrofoam Cup
Well folks we were the noisy neighbors this week... for a day! Our house like many others in the family became a "styrofoam cup" on Friday. Recently it was suggested to us that we have the foam insulation blown in... our AC was running a lot... there's still a tax credit... our walls have no insulation, etc. etc. While on vacation we had an estimate and after the sticker shock wore off we thought hard about it and well... we got it done. It's actually pretty impressive how insulation is shot into holes between mortar in a brick house and then filled in afterwards. Unless you know its there... you'd not notice it at all. Today I noticed that coming home after a warm afternoon of walking and sweating (and not buying anything but a bottle of water) at the St Johns Art Festival. Our house was cool 83 degrees inside but COOL. With no air on and just windows open all day long! How about that!
